WIGWAM CHI-CHEMUNG

Reservations to Revelations

SummerWorks presented a conversation with Elder Duke Redbird on the relationship artists and makers have with the land and water, and the practice of “making space” through an Indigenous lens.

SummerWorks is widely recognized as one of the most important platforms for launching new performance work. We are interested in continuously re-imagining and innovating the possibilities of performance- how it is created, presented and experienced. This year’s SummerWorks Performance Festival took place August 8 – 18, 2019. In the SummerWorks Exchange we curated a series of events that facilitated artist and community growth, strengthening the ecology of live performance in Toronto, and expanding our dialogue and collaboration with the national and international arts community.
