For this piece, I drew the two lead characters from the Korean Drama, “It’s Okay to Not Be Okay”. It’s a brilliant series on mental health and romance. The two main characters are Ko Moon-Young who is a writer of children’s storybooks and Moon Gang-Tae who is a personal support worker at a mental health hospital. The two characters have an amazing chemistry, slowly becoming intertwined in fate. Like other viewers, I was very touched by the story and it was definitely a gateway to the rest of my KDrama binge during lockdown!
My name is Peter, I am a Doctor of Pharmacy/MBA student from the University of Toronto. I started getting into Korean Dramas as well as digital sketching this summer during lockdown. I had been really interested in doing more portraits and this summer I had been working on drawing figures from science, movies, and television shows. Because of this, I’ve drawn characters anywhere from Lord of the Rings to real life leaders like Dr. Anthony Fauci!
