We invite you to explore various snapshots and creative pieces during this time in isolation. With all of these pieces in one place, do they speak of isolation or a sense of community?
The intrinsic relationship between our cultural spaces and community has shifted due to the COVID-19 pandemic. These snapshots showcase our human resilience throughout this time of uncertainty. What does it mean to be in community together when we can no longer gather in person? We have adapted to online connections, creating new relationships and bonds which may have not been possible without these virtual platforms, but we urge you to question what will happen to our physical cultural spaces in the meantime? Who has been left behind?
Thank you for taking the time to look through our digital archive. We ask that you, the viewer, to take the time to reflect on your personal history and voice. Have you been telling your story? Reclaiming your personal truths? Who speaks for our community? The Quarantine Qapsule (QQ) is one place where we can take agency in our personal storytelling. We highly encourage you to keep creating and find spaces where your voice is heard, beyond the QQ, to continue our goal to make racialized voices prevalent and accessible across archives.
