THE JOB PURPOSE

Myseum is looking for a versatile and energetic marketer who is creative and motivated to use their talent and skill-set in a meaningful way. As a Marketing and Social Media Specialist at Myseum, you will focus on the execution of campaigns and social media marketing, with a dedication to serving the overall strategic goals of the organization. Your copywriting and storytelling skills are key strengths in your marketing toolkit and you are passionate about using social media to inform, engage and persuade. You are thoughtful, logical, and detail-oriented in your approach, and motivated by being a part of a passionate and cohesive team.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Design and Communications:

  • Work closely with the Marketing Lead on the day-to-day delivery of creative and marketing projects
  • Heavy focus on writing copy for the website, email campaigns, social media posts and print materials
  • Take direction and work collaboratively with Marketing Lead, producing innovative, results-oriented solutions
  • Work alongside the designer to develop the execution of various digital and print materials, including web & social media assets
  • Maintain and oversee brand guidelines, donor recognition and ensure brand standards are respected and applied to all graphic elements
  • Maintain marketing repository of all assets
  • Work on the production of website banners, video assets, brochures, and case studies
  • Measure and report on the performance of marketing campaigns, review analytics, gain insight and analyze consumer behavior across all channels and adjust strategy and tactics accordingly
  • Collaborate with key internal teams to spread brand messages

Digital Marketing:

  • Brief in components for digital campaigns including web, email, social and landing pages that are focused on audience acquisition and retention
  • Work to continuously improve the website including:
  • Help to review and grow SEM efforts
  • Contribute heavily to social media marketing efforts, including social calendar management and updating, writing and creating content across all social media channels, work with designer on creating and posting assets
  • Continuously monitor the performance and analytics of various assets via Google Analytics, email marketing and social media marketing reporting dashboards and look for how Myseum can expand and improve
  • Management and data steward of MailChimp account, working with the Marketing Lead on email strategy, and will be responsible for setting up and deploying emails

Project Management:

  • Manage the day to day in creating and executing effective marketing campaigns
  • Collaborate and support Marketing Lead through marketing project development with idea generation, and recommendations to contribute to the optimization of marketing strategies
  • Build strategic relationships and partner with key stakeholders, partners, agencies, and vendors

Culture and Museums:

  • Build content and at times deliver on digital channels as representative of Myseum
  • Collaborate with programming team on developing on and off line content when required
  • Work closely with programming team to develop content in the exhibitions and online when needed
  • Develop knowledge and skills about the culture sector
  • Work to understand narrative, storytelling, lived experience and how they play out in historical and exhibition planning
  • Be an ambassador and advocate for Myseum at all times.

TECHNICAL SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS

  • Creative and passionate about social media content with an understanding of the principles and practices of social media marketing, including paid social to drive traffic to the website and to generate leads
  • Excellent attention to detail, results-focused, and ability to quickly problem solve
  • Basic knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud and other design programs is an asset
  • Understands the fundamentals of SEO and online advertising
  • Knowledge in managing Google Ads
  • Proficient in Google Office Suite
  • Experience with Google Tag Manager, Google Analytics, Google Search Console
  • Working knowledge with MailChimp
  • Proven experience in identifying target audiences and in creatively devising and leading across channels marketing campaigns that engage, educate and motivate

QUALIFICATIONS

  • University or College education in marketing, communications, museum studies and management, arts administration, business administration, records management, fundraising, human resources, or similar areas, or equivalent work experience.
  • Post-Secondary education; University/ College Diploma in Marketing, Communications
  • 2+ years of experience in marketing and communications
  • Understanding of design principles, copywriting, marketing fundamentals, campaign development, lead gen and marketing promotion

THE WORK ENVIRONMENT

Pending COVID-related public health guidelines, this role will be required to split their time between Myseum’s office (401 Richmond West) and work from home.
