COMPANY BACKGROUND
Myseum is your Toronto museum. Established in 2014, Myseum is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to showcasing the history, spaces, cultures, architecture and people that represent Toronto’s unique place in the world. Through inclusive community partnerships and innovative programming, we curate, convene and share the diverse stories of Toronto, infusing a sense of curiosity in our past, present and future.
As we seek to grow and expand our reach, we are looking for enthusiastic, engaged and forward-thinking individuals to join our Board of Directors and Board Committees. We are seeking applicants with experience and skills identified below, and welcome diverse representation as we believe our organization must reflect our city. Our ability as an organization and as a city to embrace the perspectives of many different people helps to define our character, connect communities and strengthen our urban fabric.

OPPORTUNITIES
Myseum’s Board of Directors leads strategy, oversees operations and finances, and is involved in leading and developing committees. Board committees assist the Board and the Myseum staff in expanding operations, by providing expertise and facilitating connections in the community. These are volunteer positions.
For the Board of Directors, we are seeking applicants with experience in one or more of the following areas:
- Digital
- Fundraising
- Finance/Financial Planning
- Programming
- Human Resources Management
In addition, the following are considered assets:
- Experience in arts, culture & heritage
- Experience in community engagement
- Experience on a board or committee
- Experience in charities or not-for-profit organizations
- Experience working in an equity and anti-oppression framework
The Board of Directors meets six times per year as well as one annual strategy session. Ad hoc meetings may be held at the discretion of the Board Chair.
For the Board Committees, we welcome applicants who are interested in, and can contribute expertise, skills and time to the following committees:
- Programming Committee
- Tech & Digital Committee
- Marketing Committee
- Financial Resource Development Committee
Board Committees meet 3-6 times per year, scheduled at the discretion of the Committee Chair.
